Republish our stories

Vocemundi stories are free to republish under a CC BY-ND 4.0 licence. Here are the rules.

Last updated: 1 October 2026.

Vocemundi stories can be republished for free by newspapers, websites, newsletters and community media, in English, Spanish, French or German. We want verified news to travel further. Every story carries a Republish button that gives you the full text as HTML, ready to paste, with the attribution line already included.

The licence

The text of our stories is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-NoDerivatives 4.0 International (CC BY-ND 4.0). You do not need to ask us first. Commercial use is allowed.

The rules

  • Credit us. Keep the byline with "Vocemundi" (for example "By Vera, Vocemundi") and the attribution line at the end: "This story was originally published by Vocemundi and is republished under a CC BY-ND 4.0 license", with the link to the original article.
  • Do not change the meaning. You may adjust style, spelling conventions and house style, or shorten the story; if you shorten it, say so (for example "This story has been shortened"). You may not add, remove or alter facts, quotes or attributions, and you may not change the meaning of the headline.
  • Corrections. If we correct a story, please update your copy. Our corrections are listed on Corrections.
  • Photos are not included. Photographs, maps and graphics from third parties (Wikimedia Commons, agencies, governments) are not ours to relicense. If you want to use one, follow its own licence and credit, shown in the caption and on the linked file page. AI-made illustrations may be republished only with their label (for example "AI illustration").
  • Do not sell it on its own. You may run ads next to the story, but you may not sell or license our stories separately.
  • No impersonation. Do not republish on sites that pretend to be Vocemundi or another news organisation, or that suggest we endorse you, your products or your views.
  • Keep the counter. The HTML includes a 1x1 image from vocemundi.com. It only tells us that a republished copy was viewed and which story it was; it sets no cookies. Please leave it in place.

What we do not license

Our logo, site design and the name Vocemundi (other than in the credit), and photographs and other third-party material.

Translations

You may republish any of our four editions. Spanish, French and German editions are translated from the English original; in case of discrepancy, the English version prevails. Please do not publish your own translation as a Vocemundi story.

How we verify

Each story ends with a box called "How we verified this story": the sources, how many claims our AI reviewers checked and whether any of them dissented. The attribution line links to it, so your readers can check our work. See How we work.
